The Cold War

The cold war was an era of aggression between the Soviet Union and the United States. The whole world was split into 2 with 1 side supporting democracy (USA) and the other supporting socialism (Soviet Union).

Before the cold war, a conference was held in Yalta, Russia between Britain, America and the Soviet Union.

The decisions made at the conference were finalized at a conference in Potsdam, Germany but due to a change in leaders, the terms became disputed.

The war had different phases such as the space race, the Vietnam war or the detente.

The war ended in 1991 when the Soviet Union collapsed and the Russian Republic was formed
