The Khilafat movement was a movement to make sure the Ottoman empire did not suffer any punishment from the British because of their involvement in World War 1
Maulana Shaukat Ali and his brother Maulana Mohammed Ali Johar from the Muslim League along with Maulana Abdul Kalam Azad from Congress lead the conference
The main events were the first conference, the second conference and the Hijrat movement
The Hindus supported the Muslims in the Khilafat movement
The Hindus under the Indian National Congress wanted self-rule

The Ottomans suffered a lot even though the British said that they wouldn't
Both Hindus and Muslims couldn't trust the British and Gandhi's idea was accepted:
"No person on earth would not prefer their own bad government to the good government of an alien power."
Now along with the Hindus, the Muslims are demanding self-rule as the British Govt did not keep its promise to Keep Turkey safe
